History

As the company founder and owner, I originally incorporated The Employer Advantage, in Joplin, Missouri as an employee leasing company in 1990.  Our company's first home was a small office on 32nd Street in Joplin, Missouri.  Two years later the company broadened its corporate horizons when the marketing focus expanded substantially by offering full employer services, eventually becoming The Employer Advantage, LLC. 

Within three years the company outgrew that space and consequently moved to 705 Illinois Avenue.  The number of EA employees grew from two people and myself to a full time staff of five.  We have steadily increased our internal employee numbers, with current staffing now at  thirty (not including full time marketers located as far north as Lake of the Ozarks and south to Branson). In April of 2000 our growth dictated that we once again relocate.  Our new home became 1230 East 7th Street, Joplin, Missouri, where we presently serve as the corporate outsourcing center to hundreds of clients of all sizes, from California to Maine.

In 1997 The Employer Advantage was recognized by the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce as the "Small Business of the Year".  EA was selected from a field of thirteen other nominated businesses.  This prestigious recognition is an annual award sponsored by the accounting firm of Baird, Kurtz and Dobson and is presented to the business considered to have made the most valuable contributions to the community through growth and success for that year. As a Professional Employer Organization, we have realized continuous growth and expansion through:
